The concept of Shapelinx was originally developed for the THU Conference and website. Back then, these characters did not even have a name yet. I created these little beings as something relatable beyond shape, identity, or race. Simple forms filled with emotion, personality, and presence.
Over the years, the project evolved naturally and slowly began to develop stories of its own, growing into a larger universe of visual storytelling where every frame tells a story. Some big, some small
.
One of the main creative and technical challenges behind Shapelinx was that everything was built entirely from vector shapes. Every illustration exists as a layered SVG / Illustrator-based system, designed to be combined, reused, and scaled without loss of quality. Beyond creating the stories and characters themselves, I also developed a flexible visual component library that allowed the THU art team to build and expand the world further.
